Such a bunch of crap. The planned protest against voter suppression in Portland Oregon was cancelled because of….rain. Really? I guess the issue is not that important. I am beyond pissed.

I wish they would team up with “Black Lives Matter” because I feel this would create more needed attention towards abuse of power! BLM is well known through the Media which is the attraction a movement like this needs to continue to grow into! Now that would make a huge statement, but they probably won’t because there “only” focus is Cops and violence it was such a promising movement at first that got lost because they fail to wrap it around all of the NON-BLACKS too who marched with them. Abuse of Authority is serious!!! Democracyspring you are HOPE the anti-hate that society needs!!! Thank you somebodies!!!

This great effort is splintered now. Organize nationally with Democracy Spring in each state grouping the local organizations. This whole effort needs a national profile with lots of heft.

I think your founding fathers would not approve of such corruption on every check and balance in your democracy as there is now. Amazing how individuals have become the check, trying to balance your democracy. How could it have come to this? What is happening will be written in history books. The United States went to war for independence and implemented a democracy different than what we have in Canada and in Britain; a parliamentary democracy, to protect itself from oligarchy exactly what is now being revealed to the world. God speed all of you brave people that believe in the fundamentals the USA in built upon. If the foundation is as strong as it appears to be you will succeed in restoring the checks and balances that much of the world fights for! And your people died to foment.

I think in the spirit of Woodstock , historical and modern protest musicians and bands should come and help us pass the time while adding spirit and emotion to our movement.

Crushing is obsolete . Creating a more sane model that people naturally adopt simply because it works better , is more effective and less aggressive . Virtually no one prefers a square wheel to a round one . As Alex Jones said , " The answer to 1984 is 1776 ." A far better approach is to adopt the social /economic model the Founders of the Republic intended : A locally empowered free market Republic with Inalienable Rights that cannot be voted away , fueled with sustainable , interest free currency created by the People , through their Representatives in Congress , distributed through publicly owned banks .

Except for the fact that because once the majority votes themselves into power , they change all the laws so they are never OUT of power , making Democracy arguably one of the worst forms of Government , which is why the founders made America a constitutional REPUBLIC , with Inalienable Rights that cannot be voted away for ANY reason , and Democracy Spring , while having good intentions , because every individual does indeed have a Right to a voice , offers nothing specific whatsoever to solve the problem except the futility of getting arrested . Except for that , it’s a great idea . If you want to demand the completely corrupt Senate audit the Fed , and jail the BANKERS , not the Protesters , Bankers whose " fractional reserve banking " currency scam is the actually the root of your problem , you might have better results and might actually get somewhere .

Hello, yes I’m very interested in this kind of political action. I’m a regular on /r/SandersforPresident and for too long I’ve seen people vote against their own interests (especially the Afro-americans). This election is no longer democratic. Hillary has clearly brainwashed the public and the only way for democracy to happen is if we rise up and show the government what we want! People like Donald Drumpf shouldn’t be allowed to run for public office or express their opinions publicly. It disgusts me that people are allowed display pro American views in 2016!

Two questions: 1. I cannot miss work but my husband could possibly march. However, he is not a citizen and has a green card with permanent residency through his marriage to me, a U.S. citizen. What would an arrest mean for him as a non U.S. citizen?
    2. Is housing provided for marchers? Is food supplied? What are the estimated costs of participating?
