On April 2nd, we begin a 10-day, 140-mile march from the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, PA to the Capitol building in Washington, D.C.
In the tradition many movements that came before us—from the women suffragists, to the civil rights workers, to the United Farm Workers—we will march to bring people together in this fight for freedom and equality.
Marchers will meet with their fellow citizens, talk to the media, and create a firestorm of anticipation by laying out a simple choice to Congress: either pass bills to make the 2016 elections free and fair for for all people as equal citizens, or send thousands of patriotic Americans to jail simply for demanding an equal voice.

March Questions
I want to march, but cannot join for the full 10 days. Can I still participate?
Absolutely. You can sign up to march for any period of time, from one day to ten. We aim to have a minimum of 50 full-time marchers who will participate in the entire walk, and expect to have hundreds more will march for a day, a weekend, or more.
How do I check-in?
Everyone participating in the march is required to check-in.
Everyone participating in the march is required to check-in.
On April 2nd during the kickoff rally, marchers leaving from Philadelphia will check-in at the registration table located on Independence Mall. While the march will depart at noon, our welcome team will remain at the registration table until 3PM. If you arrive in the afternoon, we’ll have vehicles available to catch you up with the march.
After 3:00 PM, you’ll have to refer to the above march route and find transportation to catch up with the group.
If you will be joining us somewhere in the middle of the march, we ask that you locate our main vehicle at that day’s starting place; there will be plenty of staff on-hand to assist you.
Will I have housing during the march?
Yes. We are diligently working to find housing for the marchers. Most of this housing will require that you have a sleeping bag and sleeping pad for your comfort. Unfortunately we will not be able to guarantee showers for every day of the march. Any marchers requiring other sleeping arrangements should feel free to take the initiative of finding their own accommodations along the way.
We have also compiled a list of hotels that fall along the march route. This may be a good option for those who need to sleep in bed, are uncomfortable with sleeping in a room of many people, or have other concerns about the current housing arrangements.
Will food be provided?
Yes. We are working to make sure you are fed breakfast, lunch and dinner each day of the march. We also recommend that you carry extra cash or a credit/debit card in the event that you want to stop for a snack.
What do I need to bring with me to march?
Generally, you should pack a small bag to carry items like extra socks, water, or other items you might need as you walk. You'll want to have a duffle bag or equivalent for everything to be transported in the baggage truck during the day. Here's a suggested packing list that we've compiled.
Does it cost anything to march?
Anyone who is willing and able to participate in the march will be supported to do so. Though we ask that every marcher make a concerted good-faith effort to raise $30-40 per day to help cover essential costs for food and support vehicles.

Facebook TwitterI did reserve to join the troupe from the 6th day of the march, so I need to report to the over night site in Abingdon, MD. However when I called the only church in the area by the name given on the marching route, Towne Baptist Church, they say not them.
It’s crucial that people trying to join the march midway know exactly where the overnight sites are. The church people think you’ve a typo, for they don’t know any around Abingdon by the name other than them (their actual address is in Joppa, zip code is 21085, phone, 4106792030—the location on the route map matches their location too). Unless the church people don’t know they have been drafted!
I already bought plane ticket to BWI, about 30 miles to Abingdon, arriving the evening of the 6th of April. I shall not have problem to join you all, if I know where you stay that night. A street address and a phone # will be highly appreciated by this senior citizen eager to perform her duty!
Please reply!
I’ll be landing in DC early morning on the ninth, and am hoping to travel from DC to Elkridge that morning in time for the beginning of the April 9th March. Is anyone from DC planning on making a similar trip, or know of anyone who makes a similar commute that I could catch a ride with?
Thanks!
