Hi everyone – this is Klaus, co-founder from flinc in Germany. We are thrilled that you have promoted flinc to organize ridesharing to DC. This is probably flinc’s first appearance in the US. And we have to apologize for the missing functionality that some of you have experienced, here’s an explanation: flinc is positioned to serve the ridesharing needs on short trips, i.e. commute to work, getting to school, sports or leisure activities. It has not been built for long range cross country trips. And: as flinc has so far been rolled out to European countries, we have implemented an upper ceiling for distances of 900km (roughly 600 miles)…and that is because it is very likely in Europe that you enter another country if you travel so far. So: we wish you all great success in your campaign!!!

I’m participating in the action and could use a ride back to Oregon (or Washington) for a fair contribution towards gas money. Contact me, Dan (cell): 971-444-2406

Hey team, wanted to let everyone know: our field team is working up an alternative to Flinc so that folks can communicate more directly about planning rides.

Flinc has turned out to have inflexible built-in mile limitations that we didn’t expect. We’ll be updating our full list of supporters as soon as an alternative is finalized. Thanks for your support!

Doesn’t work for cross-country carpooling. LAME! Thanks for the warning, @tom Thompson. Confirmed – same thing. Looked to arrange a ride from/to Oakland, CA. The email said " If you need a ride, there are people coming from all across the country, so they’ve set up a ride-sharing program here." :-( Hastily written, I guess.

anyone near Fort Washington, Maryland area?

This doesn’t work. I tried offering a ride and it said the ride is too far. I am in Salt Lake City, but the rider would not have to be from here. I could pick someone up along the way. In any case I see no reason why I couldn’t use this to hook up with a rider who is also from SLC. Is there any way to go on and look for Democracy Spring participants who are seeking rides? I cannot find it if it is there.
